i have 4 IPC-HDW5442T-ZE S3 that exhibit a strange audio noise, all day and night long, across different firmware. i've done plenty of factory resets. it can be described as a nighttime sounds of insects or crickets all the time. my 5 IPC-HDW5442TM-ASE on the same system don't exhibit this issue. i have noticed that turning on WDR at the default level of 50 makes this audio noise go away. having WDR on 1 doesn't stop this noise. (i have gone through alot of settings trying to see if a particular attribute may be the cause) i really don't want to use WDR, especially at 50.

is this some form of coil whine maybe? does WDR change the electrical load characteristics of the camera enough to eliminate the sound?

cams are being powered by a dahua poe switch DH-S3000C-8GT2GT-DPWR

Full WDR (>=45) triples how many shots are done by camera (3 per each video frame). Also increases a lot image processing by SOC (combining 3 shots using HDR algorithm)..
Both increases a power usage...

try on different POE switch...

if this is high pitch, looks like some coil whine...

I just ordered a tp link TL-SG1005P. When I eventually go back to site I'll hook up the 4 cams to it and see if it helps.
