While we're on the subject of LED on cameras, I'm sure we've all mused at the flashing LEDs on Hollywood-made dramas in which every single surveillance camera has a flashing LED. It's like they want to call attention to device that could be covert if we didn't call attention to it. But whatever prompts the screenwriters/producers/directors to do that is contagious......the Hollywood-based creators of magnetic-under-car-GPS-trackers and stick-on-C4-explosive-with-blasting-cap has at the very least a flashing LED but sometimes they splurge with a few 7 segment LED countdown digits. Many of them beep @ 1 pulse per second.
Of course I'm talking about the Hollywood-created explosive devices that follow the NEC conductor color code regarding battery positive and negative, timer output, DC- return from blasting cap and so on...we don't want to use a wrong color of conductor for a specific function, especially if it will help a bomb tech/explosive expert disarm the device. After all, an infraction of the NEC's section that covers such explosive devices could jeopardize your bomb-making certification.
"...Cut the blue wire!!"
Jeez...
