IPC-HFW1831E Best Setting

I have a IPC-HFW1831E 8mp 6mm am still using the the 20190404 firmware because of the new firmware max bit rate now only to 8192. I know I can get more out of this camera that I am. I am not an expert only a home user setting up perimeter cameras. This one covers my driveway to the street so about 35 feet max from a corner mount. For daylight I struggle trying to get better face recognition in the 20-25 foot (may not be capable) and at night same. I have experimented and have searched on the forum for ideas. Best I found was the @Burtonflooring review in 2018.

Wow, I am surprised at this That cam has a 1/1.8" CMOS. What exactly is the problem? Describe or post a shot showing the issue.
