Just purchased this camera and I see that the camera interface depends on Adobe flash for video display. Since Adobe will no longer distribute Flash starting in 2020, is there a firmware update that doesn't have this dependency?

Is it Adobe Flash? I see where the page source mentions something like "flashplayer". I don't have stand-alone Flash installed on any of my systems and Firefox (which AFAIK requires stand-alone Flash to view Flash stuff) works fine, as does Chrome (with the embedded Flash disabled). If I surf to any of the online "Is Flash enabled?" tools, they also report that Flash is not available in those two browsers.

Either way, this is Dahua's new method and has only been around in the last few firmware versions. Prior versions required installing a NPAPI browser plugin, which Chrome, Firefox and Safari dropped support for awhile ago. That left IE 11 and one-offs like PaleMoon as the only browsers that worked for these cameras.
