I have a Dahua IPC-HFW5241E-Z12E camera and running into blurry plates. Not for sure how good the shots should be but using Rekor Scout I am getting most plates during the day albeit a little blurry but at night its struggling to get plates. I will get a few plates early in the night but then not much after? Here are my settings and example shots if anyone can help?

+1 above

I would consider doing a manual shutter for daytime as well as the focus will adjust as the shutter is changing speeds in some instances. 1/4,000 usually works.

And consider matching iframe and FPS for both main and substream.

Big debate on which is better FPS. 15FPS at 8192 Kb/s bitrate is providing double the bits per frame than 30FPS at same bitrate of 8192 Kb/s

Agree with @wittaj , set your daytime exposure to 1/2000 or faster
Turn day DNR down to 30-35
And there’s no need/benefit to HLC during the daytime

On your night settings
Try Gain back at 50
DNR at or below 50, never above
Crank sharpness back to 40

And as you’re running manual focus, agree with @samplenhold You need to refocus

Thank you for your help, I will be making those changes and trying a re-focus again.
