Hi All

Wondering if anything has come across this issue. This is the same IP cam I have been having trouble with in a previous post. Model in Title.

For the past 3 nights this has been the night recording. This triggers motion pretty much all night. Unsure if this is an IR issue or something else.

Could it be caused by a reflection and the IR set to auto? If it's on auto, try setting the IR to a fixed level.

Thanks! I've had all cams set to auto without any issue to date. I'll test with that! That is the setting under "illuminator", correct?

Odd, thats the 'Smart IR" kicking in. Nowadays simply called 'Auto".

In theory it "dims" when objects get too close, reflecting to much IR back at the camera and it dims to try to reduce over exposure (white out)

But in this scene there doesnt seem to be anything to set that off...? Its a pulse, so i wonder if maybe it has something to do with an odd exposure thing? What is your exposure set to?

Weird.
You don’t have WDR on at night do you?

No I don't. I don't actually run any day/night schedules on the cams themselves, only within BI. It is night here now and turning off smart IR seems to have fixed the problem. Night image is probably illuminated 2x as much as well so win win! Thanks again!

Still it shouldnt do that
The benefit of Smart IR (Auto) is the dimming when a subject gets close to the camera so that the IR doesnt create white out, washing out the details.
You may want to test by walking around and towards it
