I recently bought a bunch more of the 5442 cameras from Empiretech and realized the ones I just bought seem to be different from the ones I got back in 2020 (see the pics from the boxes). The main difference seems to be the built in AI (I was very surprised to see that) but there may be others I’m missing. Pardon my ignorance but can these older cameras upgrade their firmware to match the performance of the new ones or is there a significant difference in the hardware between them to the point I should consider replacing them with all new ones from Andy? I only have 4 of the older type so compared to the total cost of the system it’s not a huge issue cost wise.

If this is just a firmware update issue, can someone also point me to the correct link for where I can find the latest firmware for these? I’d like to be able to update the older ones regardless even if I end up selling them to someone else.

The original 5442 has AI as well. It wasn't labeled as AI and is simply a human and vehicle check boxes.

You can't update your older firmware to the newer firmware.

Any keeps the firmware on his website.

As you can see from the review, the new model is much improved as it relates to low light performance.

Thanks so much for all your reviews, the comparison photos really make the difference obvious. Looks like I will swapping out those other 4 cameras after all.
