I was asked before and thought I would make it public with some photos..
this is not at full zoom, its about 40 feet from car.

Only daytime, no night capturing unfortunately.. I didn't buy the camera to capture plates, so its definitely an added bonus.

How's it do at night?

Except you'd lose your overview capability. It takes 2 cameras

But, thats true of most any Dahua camera is my point.
If placed properly and set properly, its not hard.

That's true, I really could care less.. I just wanted to see if it was possible with this camera, took a lot of testing and fine tuning to get as good as it is.. I'm just leaving it at this spot because the upper siding on my home is black, the cameras also being black blends in perfect, I haven't seen anyone look at them yet and there is a sidewalk right beside that fence with over 100 ppl a day walking by..

Mind you, I have completely maxed out this camera as you can probably tell by the pictures of my settings, but believe it or not, the camera has held up perfectly, smooth as butter.. no jidder.. space and resources is not an issue, I have 9 of these cameras all maxed out.

Do you happen to have any night shots or a photo?

Do you happen to have any night shots or a photI'll be completely honest, this is a 4k camera, all 4ks will suffer at night time, unless you have really good light and time to fine tune it...I just don't have street lights near me..
My footage at night is kinda dark, but I can still make out people no problem, and even the make of cars passing.
If you are seaking an awesome camera for night time I wouldn't recommend this one..
But if you are interested in very nice video during the day, it's definitely a good choice

I'm looking for a camera that can do both. I have lanterns at the position.

Part of the problem at night is it is not the ideal MP/sensor size for good night performance and all the IR bounce reflecting off the fence is killing the exposure, but I have seen worse LOL.

I know the fence is really hurting it.. it was even worse when it was bouncing off the house vinyl siding.. but sometimes you win some or lose some lol .. I can't be picky, as long as I can identify things at night, and my tripwires are working properly, I'm ok with it.. :)
It's a picture of my monitor also, it looks a little better in real life

Yeah, I am surprised it looks as good as it does LOL. Normally the part beyond the IR bounce is really dark but you seem to have found the adjustments to make it work.

Which camera with 3.6 mm can you recommend if you have good light in front of the house and the sidewalk where people walk is only 5 meters away? Best with video metadata function. My neighbor would like to buy a camera system.

The 54IR (5442)

I don't have a lot of experience to recommend a camera, but I'm sure there is lots of people that will reply to you.

Isn't the bracket supposed to be not so good? At least that's what I read in the forum. Could you run them in color?

That is true that the bracket isn't the best now for the fixed lens as it is a tab instead of a screw.

Any camera can be ran in color with enough light. For the most part the only difference between a full color camera and an infrared camera is what kind of light is built-in - either white light or infrared LEDs, but some are coming with both. But the disadvantage to the to full color cameras is that if someone doesn't have enough white light, they cannot add infrared later as the camera doesn't see it.

If it is for a doorway, this would be another good alternative.

The street there is so narrow that the camera only has a small distance to the people walking past.

This one gives you both choices. Hard to beat out to 15ft in 3.6mm at night
