IR Illuminator not turning on Dahua NVR and Cameras

Hi Everyone,

I had installed a Dahua NVR NVR4108HS-8P with five DH-IPC-HDBW3866EP cameras and the IR Illuminator was working fine at night but it has now stopped working for all the camera. I had not touched the NVR or any of the cameras and this seem to have happened for no reason. I am now unable to turn the IR back on. In the camera settings>Image I have chosen the "Default" and under Illuminator the Mode is "Auto" for the General, Day and Night.

Appreciate your help and thoughts on this.

Unlikely it happened to all 5 cameras with no changes.

Are you making these setting changes in the NVR or on each camera interface itself?

I had not logged into the NVR since the initial setup and have only been accessing the videos through the DMSS app, not sure if this can be changed through the app. I have checked the Illuminator both in the NVR and from the camera interface. screenshots attached.

Never make camera settings via the App or NVR. ONLY in the camera GUI

That camera GUI shows your cameras to be set to daytime 24/7 using customized scene, there's your problem.
You would need to manually set a nighttime period

Or set it to Day/Night switch at top

Does IR come on?
 
MAke sure AI SSA is NOT enabled
 
No, with AI SSA off, and Illuminator on Manual with 100% brightness, the IR light is still OFF !

What is the exposure setting?
 
Could be you are overriding something via the app.....

Also dont use shutter priority. use manual - 0-4 NOT 0-40

Its not a cable
 
Show Yours Day/Night settings (position above illuminator)..
If there is color, then camera WILL NOT switch into IR...
it should be there Auto...

Also there should be settings how fast camera will switch to IR/BW with bad light situation..

this in main settings which tell camera when switch to IR...
Illuminator are extra settings only about lighting (how strong etc)....

Yeah that mostly for the very dark afternoon thunderstorms we get and I dont like running WDR

I run B&W fixed at night on that camera due to streetlight that can make it go color but theres really not enough light for color to work well
 
I can confirm I had not logged into the NVR or the Cameras and only accessing the system via the app. I have checked the DMSS app and in the app the Illumination setting for all cameras is IR Mode Automatic. Even if a setting is changed in the app accidentally, it could not have been done for all five cameras ! Agree, cable is very unlikely to be the issue. I am thinking a factory reset of the NVR, but not sure if it is possible to reset the cameras?

Cameras can be factory defaulted, ...where depends on your FW version

FYI- once you get past this, 0-25 Exposure is very bright, probably a pretty static picture, but you will see massive motion blur with movement.
Generally I run 0-2 to 0-4 during the day color
usually 0-6 to 0-8.33 (1/120 or faster) manual at night
