IR LEDs not working on Dahua camera

Hi everyone,

I’m having an issue with my Dahua camera where the IR LEDs don’t activate in Night mode, even though the image switches to black and white. The scene remains dark because the IR LEDs are not turning on, and one part of the image (center and top-center) appears blurry.

Here’s what I’ve observed and tried so far:

1. The camera is set to Night mode, and the image switches to black and white, but no IR light is emitted.

2. I’ve adjusted the Illuminator Mode to both Manual and On, and set the Brightness to 50, but the IR LEDs still don’t activate.

3. I’ve covered the lens and light sensor completely to simulate total darkness, but the IR LEDs don’t turn on.

4. The top-center area of the image appears blurry, while the rest of the scene looks relatively sharp.

The camera is installed in an area with some ambient light (from a streetlamp), but I would still expect the IR LEDs to activate when the camera switches to night mode.
Has anyone experienced a similar problem or can offer advice on what might be causing this? Could this be a hardware failure with the IR LEDs or something related to the light sensor?

Thank you for your help!

Sounds likely. Which camera?

Can you completely cover or put the cam in a dark place to make sure that the sensor isn't getting light? A few times I've thought that I had a sensor covered but it was still leaking light through.

Thanks for your reply!

I’ve already completely covered the camera, including the lens and light sensor, to ensure no light was getting through. Despite this, the IR LEDs still didn’t turn on. It’s definitely not due to any light leakage.

The camera model is Dahua IPC-HFW3849T1-AS-PV. Do you think it could be a hardware issue with the IR LEDs?

Have you tried the old solid state repair procedure yet? Smack the heck" out of it to unstick the ir filter.
I have a couple of cams that I have hit with a stick to fix them.

And I remember when it came 1 month ago it has IR working... so I am very lost why there is no way to make those work

Now after the reset, the IRs are working but the alarm is not...I did another reset and after changing the IP stops working...

This happens after changing the TCP IP config:

This is the default config:

When I changed to my network subnet (192.168.0.108), (note the 0, instead of 1) the rest works, but not the alarm:

Do you have any idea what could I do to solve this?
