Came in possession of a brand new SV3C HDX PTZ wifi camera. I’m a complete newby as far as surveillance cameras and the set-ups are concerned. But I want to make use of it by checking wildlife in the backyard. Before I spend time/money on the software can anyone tell me if the BI software can set the camera to detect motion caused by humans/animals and only record that instead of moving shadows, insects, branches and leaves? I’m not interested in continuous recording? Maybe BI is more than I need but apps for android are mostly terrible. I have it installed and as far as communication with phone/pc is concerned it seems to work, but I need different software. Thanks in advance for your reply.

try it and see. it's free to download and play with (in mostly fully functional eval mode)... Home - Blue Iris Software
for checking it out with a small number of cams, most any windows PC will do.
