IS BI right for me?

I'm new to IP cameras and am needing a way to have motion in certain directions detected. Like the tripwire feature that apparently exists on the Dahua camera I'm getting. Does BI have this functionality? I have two choices for software as they are the only ones supported by the home automation software I use. BI and SightHound. SH costs a small fortune and has an annual fee so I'd rather skip it if possible but it looks like it's set up to do exactly what I'm looking for. A few false positives are alright with me. I'm more concerned with knowing when someone has come onto my property.

Thoughts?

With BI, you can setup multiple zones. They get lettered, like A, B, C, etc. You can have it alert when people cross from one zone to another, or through all zones, etc.

BI has a free trial. Once you have your cameras setup, give the trial a go. The Help File that comes with BI has a ton of good info. Def spend the time clicking the Help button on the various screens within BI.

I get a lot of false positives from BI on sunny, windy days where clouds blow thru and create rolling shadows across the scene as they pass. Still enjoy BI overall, but I can’t rely on it for accurate notifications on those days. Others have had better luck tuning this kind of situation.

BI is great, but the UI leaves something to be desired. It is the most cost effective solution I have found: the software costs around $75, and the server I bought cost about $150.
