Is Blue Iris dependent on Internet access?

Background: I have been using Blue Iris for such a long time and always upgraded to the most recent stable version. I thought BI was mainly standalone for home use and only needed the Internet for remote access and upgrades (of course).

We recently had a massive power outage for a week (Pacific Northwest). Our house was able to have off-grid power so our cameras, POE and Blue Iris all had power but BI could not see the cameras.
Once the Internet was restored, BI could see all the cameras and function as normal.

Question: So the question is if BI is dependent on the external internet to function or do I have a configuration issue? I sure thought BI originally ran standalone (way back in the day....)

BI does not need internet.

You have a configuration issue.

I suspect your cameras are going thru the router and maybe because the router didn't have internet access it whacked out on showing the cameras?

We have seen that before when trying to troubleshoot member here where we asked the to unplug the internet or the router and poof goes the cameras.

Was the whole house provided power or just parts - maybe a splitter wasn't on the power?

Thank you for the response. I am glad to hear it configuration based.

I am going to have map out my current wiring configurations and find out! My home network has grown and changed so much during the years that I really can't answer that yet.
