Is it possible to get a notification when a particular vehicle passes my home?

Just trying to see what I can do.
I have the

* EmpireTech NVR32CH-8XI 32 Channels​

* EmpireTech IPC-T58IR-ZE-S3 1/1.8" CMOS 8MP
And
* EmpireTech IPC-T54IR-ZE-S3 1/1.8" CMOS 4MP IR Starlight

Is there away to get a notification when a particular person or vehicle passes?

For example, if I have a copy of video or picture of that particular person or vehicle can I program the NVR to send me a notification of that person/vehicle if it passes?

Well from looks of the bold listed model says it supports Metadata so my guess is that doing a search for like kind person or car might yield results. All things matter to how you have your cameras setup and where you access footage from. Think can do it from NVR GUI . Pause on say truck, right click the box that it might be in and search for it. Then it might return the like kind vehicle? That kind of thing you are trying to do?

My wife's x boyfriend keeps coming by this home and he's not allowed, just trying to figure out away to get a notification every time he's passes with his truck

So I don't know how you have your GUI setup but if you don't have it setup in AI mode that might help give you a first glance look to see if he was by in recent history.. Then in the search as you can see from my picture sorry said right click that takes you out of the playback, I have to many devices and forget how to access them all lol. But anyway once you pause you click the little bottom eye and then normal click the icon to do a search.. Last picture is just showing what I am talking about Ai Mode. On your GUI of the NVR, if you right click like you would go to main menu, then click on Live Mode and pick Ai Mode it will shrink your view little bit but will bring up a history of what has been captured.. Again can aid in first glance to see if someone came by.. Just some ideas.

Other than using the AI search and/or Accupic (both after the fact searches) I dont know of a way to get an immediate notification on a specific vehicle.. I dont own an XI so can't be sure
(I think Blue Iris can actually do this?)

With a license plate and/or face recognition, I think you could make it work by having it send an alarm and in turn a notification. Assuming he;s moving, even if you could, he would be long gone before you got a notification I would think.

It brings up an interesting feature. Good question for @steve1225 or other Pro Dahua installer/tech.

Its one thing to record and send push notifications on ALL of a certain type of event, its another to send a notification on that type of event but ONLY for a specific vehicle/plate/face

I don't think this would be a hard feature for dahua, I think it would be a good upgrade for added security for law enforcement and souch.. or they probably already have this technology feature.

it's not, on dedicated ANPR camera models (ITC413?) there is full local API integration, which work with white/black list and allows to integrate with automatic gates / parking ticket systems etc..
question is how much of that functionality is possible on 5xx2 + 608XI...

those are not ANPR dedicated models (608XI alone have only some basic ANPR functionality)...

@Mark_M may know as well. He's pretty smart about Dahua NVR's

My older 4KS2 NNR requires a camera with Face Recognition (Much harder and different than simple Face Detection)

Here's a post of his dealing with Face Recognition from a year and a half ago.

I know facial recognition is somewhat good (not 100%), but for use case of DETECTING and RECOGNIZING FACES, then throwing an alert when it recognizes a face.

But this client wants the reverse, throw an alert when a face is not recognized. Use case = he wants to be alerted if a stranger is in the room.

Knowing a bit of how facial recognition works, I could imagine that most of the time the system wont recognize registered faces (negative/no recognition state) because of angle, pixelation/blurr, etc... and if this is the state that we are attaching an alert to, then the system would be...
 
I haven't really dove into the newest update for the 608xi... but I know I can search under acupick for vehicle colors, etc.. on my 54ir. Now, I'm not sure if you can set it up for an alert or anything.
 
Yes I can do that, I like it, hope there will be a new update for my soon it's on 2024 firmware

Have you tried under EVENT / AI SETTINGS / ANPR / then go to your camera channel, and ssee if you can add the blocklist, send email etc.. ?

I know you can do this with a dedicated ANPR camera, like the 431, 413, etc... and maybe the 7x series cam.

This is for plate number only.. I was aware of this setting, however this is not what I'm looking to do...
My camera will only get video of cars passing no visible plates..
I'm asking for a method to detect a white car with a red door and to send notification every time it passes.

When I do a Motor Vehicle AI Search I can only search for Color, I have to leave all other options set to All or I will get no results. If I want to search for Vehicle type for example ; Light Truck or Sedan do I need to upload some type of database or am I missing a setting on my camera ?

It's probably a limitation of the camera. The ANPR cameras are huge compared to the 5 series cameras.
You could try using AI on recorder and see what happens, if you haven't already.
