I have a 2231T that has been working great since I got it, no problems whatsoever. Today I decided to move it. When I connected it back up....nothing, nada, zip. It is using the same cable from the old position, I just re-routed it to the new position.

I have tried connecting it via the cables for my other cams (that are still working) and to different ports on the POE switch....nothing. Can not see it at all, either in EI or BI.

I have a BI PC that has a second NIC and the POE switch is connected to that and the cams to the POE switch. The BI machine IP address is 10.0.0.1 and the cam address is 10.0.0.11. All the other cams on the same 10.0.0.XX network work fine.

When I connect it I don't hear any 'clicks'.

I haven't dropped it or rough handled it in any way.

Any suggestions?

Cheers in advance,
Aaron

also what does your poe switch status led show for this camera's port? is it light up? constant / blinking / nothing?

It's been connected for well over an hour.

The POE switch led for that cam is constant green. The led for the other cams is solid green and blinking orange.

hmm. many things to try..

how about unplug it , let it rest for a few mins before powering it on.
how about supply power with 12v adaptor and see what happens.
how about master reset via the reset button
did u check the sd card, was it seated properly?

etc..

else i dont know.. maybe wait for other experts to reply..

if new series 2231, it is under the same cover as the sd card slot.

so i assume it is the mickey mouse 2231 turret?

then u have to open it up .. the reset button should be inside.

if no button then see below post for indication of what pins to short.

OK, so......

Yes, it's a mickey mouse style turret......

Unplugged it.....left it for 10 mins re-connected it...…..no go.

I opened it up...when connected to 12V / 1.5A a green light comes on.
When connected to the network cable the green light comes on.
Can't see any buttons to press to reset.

I also can't seem to see any of the pins to short...…..maybe i'm missing something.

The ip address was static 10.0.0.11 .

I've tried logging into the cam webpage gui and it just times out with "Cannot reach this page". BI just says "No signal"...…..I can log into my other cams and view them in their web gui and in BI.

OK, I think I found the button...……..pressed it for about 10 seconds, it clicked and then a second click a few seconds after that.

Will this now be reset to the 196.168.1.108 ip address?

So, I've reconfigured/connected my network so that the POE switch is now connected to my router on the 192.168.1 network and connected the cam to the POE switch.

Still can't get to the web gui for the 192.168.1.108 address.

Led lights on the switch for the cam is a solid green light but no blinking orange light.

This is doing my head in.
