Hello! Anyone have a review for the TP-Link VIGI C340S or the PTZ version TP-Link VIGI C540S . The camera specs on paper looks very good having a 1/1.8 sensor and more importantly priced really well (99$ on my area). TP-Link is very reputable in the networking space so i would trust them that they would also do a good just on their cameras, but i would still love some confirmation. warranty wise also, of the countless times i had used TP-Link product i have yet ever since to return one for warranty (in the networking side). There are also official distributors in my area so they are pretty much forced by law to warranty my items if it does break down.

I will be buying 16 of these, and before fully jumping the ship i would like to hear your guys opinion. I have tried looking for a dahua counterpart but the nearest i can find (in my area) is the DH-IPC-HFW2449M-AS-LED-B (Bullet) which is using a much smaller sensor of 1/2.9 What would be the proper couunter part of these vigi cameras in dahuas selection?

Both cameras are full color meaning if there's not enough ambient light their white LED will have to provide light; both do not have IR and likely won't work with even an external IR emitter.

Also, the C540S is not PTZ, it's PT only with a 4mm focal length lens

Assuming the client does not want the bright LED lights, how bad is its IR mode ? Assuming there are no other source of light (streetlights etc,) would full color not be ideal in this case?

All cameras need light - either visible or infrared.

This camera will not see infrared, so it will be black LOL.

So it either needs enough visible light or it is the wrong camera.

Older Dahua is one of a few cameras I use, Dahua N45EFN2, It has 4 white leds under the 1/1.8" sensor with f/1.0 and camera can see well in almost dark area. I also have a Dahua N45EF63 that is also same sensor but not as great of f/stop and that camera don't even have any white leds and again with the 1.2fstop that camera can see in my back yard with no outside light just Moon light.. However I do use an iluminar White Led light that is connected to a motion detection sensor so the camera can see better when some one is there..
