Is there any reason to leave free space on "working" drive?

My operating system and files are on a 256gb 2.5* ssd. My BI "working" drive is an 512gb m.2 ssd. My storage drives are a few hard drives bundled together with stablebit drivepool and set for triple redundancy. Is there any reason to not set BI to use the m.2 working drive at close to max? Is there any reason to keep a bunch of planned free space?

Yes, it is good practice to leave some space so that as the drive fills up there is enough free space to allow it to record over the old stuff. Most will say 10% or so of the total capacity should be left as free space.

Could it work if you allocate all of the space - sure - but it could also cause a problem at some point to.

Thanks. I've currently got 1/3 free and the new folder stores a month or so for the two installed cameras. I should see a dramatic decrease in days stored when I get the other 5 from the last sale installed.
