I'm looking for a camera to serve two purposes. First I'd like to put it on the back of the house on a bird's nest in a hanging basket. It'll be about 18" away from "the action".

After they hatch I'll move to the front of the house, trained on the driveway. I had a camera here before but it died. It's not for security as much as just to know when someone's here since it's not easy to see from inside the house. It'll be about 15' up. In both applications it'll be mounted under the eaves.

I'm in Virginia so there will be plenty of humidity (but relatively protected from rain under the eaves.)

I'd like WiFi since I have power at both locations but ethernet would be difficult.

I'd like PTZ since the driveway location is difficult to access.

I want a standard IP camera so I can use TinyCam on my Android devices like I do now with my indoor cameras (used as baby monitors).

Suggestions?

Wifi is going to be a limiting factor here. Most outdoor cameras don't have wifi. You may be better off with a powerline networking kit and a PoE injector. That way you are still only running one cable out to the camera from the nearest outlet.

You've said you want it to be PTZ. Is infrared/night vision also a requirement? There are some good Hikvision and Dahua PTZ cams around $170-230, e.g. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B015G6VRWC but they don't have infrared or a lot of zoom. If you want infrared and/or a lot of zoom, the price goes up to $400 or $600 really fast. Around $600 you can get a 2 megapixel Dahua PTZ with long range infrared and 30x zoom, though you'll have to buy it direct form China for that price.

Another option is you can take a gamble with some lower quality brand, and pay less money. For example: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B01DT3RMJQ or http://www.amazon.com/dp/B016UCNP08 -- Speaking from experience, you are more likely to have problems with odd chinese brands. Or everything could be fine.

I have bought from aliexpress in the past but I need this quicker: the birds won't take long!
