It takes many village idiots to make a village run smoothly.....

Wow! That second one, the 18 wheeler tearing his rear wheels off on those yellow bollards......I can't imagine many things more dangerous than a truck driver with road rage. :idk::headbang:

What our country looks like under Biden - FUBAR
One of the best, all-encompassing acronyms, many of which have military origins, along with SNAFU.

I think the acronym craze with the military may have started with the old Dept. of War before WWII and prior to 1949 when it became DoD as we know it initially with BUWEPS (Bureau of Weapons). Then it exploded from there...everything (departments, air wings, occupations, duty assignments, avionics gear, technical operations) that was named gave consideration to allow a repeatable and recognizable acronym. I know quite a few from being in Naval Aviation and aboard a carrier in Vietnam, plus having a father that spent 30 years in Naval Air and 35 years with Delta Airlines as an electrician and technical writer...plus I used to read a lot and was very curious, especially about word origins and how/why things were named. We had all the volumes of a 1956 set of World Book Encyclopedias and when I'd look up something that should take 5 minutes I'd get sidetracked and read non-related stuff for an hour...just couldn't help it. Since then I think most of that has leaked out my ears when I sleep.

Most folks know RADAR, SONAR, SCUBA and what their letters represent and maybe even IFF and TACAN but that's just the tip of the iceberg.
