Nah, it’s become another PR and drained of all its resources that way. No way the provinces would become states. Canada’s right is still center-left by US standards. The republicans would lose control forever.
This is just the mess of 3+ political parties and the Westminster system.
Trudeau needs to go, but the supporting party leader won’t agree to an election call until his pension is locked in (about Feb). The other supporting party is essentially a separatist party for a single province and will agree to anything that gives their province more $.
The Liberals are just realizing they’re out of time and going to be crushed whenever the next election occurs. Now it’s positioning for their personal exits and a few care about minimizing the bloodletting at the polls.
They all know leader is a useless position for the one or likely, the next two electrons. Nobody wants to surge to the forefront right now
