leaving my old cams, need new

Hi,

Have a BI system in place. Need to add a new cam, but don't want to get from my old vendor due to prices being super high. Need 2.5k or better that works with BI. Strongly prefer a flat as opposed to dome as it will see dust/rain (under an eave) and I don't want 'dome reflection' to obscure night vision.

Am assuming current nvr load will accept another cam? I'm running 11 currently.

Without anything to go on like purpose of the camera (overview, deterrent, LPR, etc), see this thread for the commonly recommended cameras (along with Amazon links) based on distance to IDENTIFY that represent the overall best value in terms of price and performance day and night.

Putting in a pool. Will be about 30' away. So at 30' I need 50' field of view. Old vendor charged like $250 for one camera...

Read through that link you sent.

Installed one of these from the links inside that thread. It did well. The flat lens cover stopped my dirty lens IR bounceback issue also.





So, then I went and swapped out 3 more cams for the flat lens cover models. I'm still using dome lens covers where shielded from rain/mist/water.
