log files - troubleshooting http trigger camera issue

on another post @possello turned me onto the http command to trigger a camera to record. i had it working but was dealing with auth issues on web interface - wanted a login first. @nayr pointed out i should turn auth off. i found you can do that for lan only so i did. i am now having issues getting the camera to trigger but it started before i turned auth off. i started messing with a profile but i am not even using that profile - it really has the same settings. i was wondering if there is a log file that i can check to see if i can determine what the issue is. i turned auth back on and it requires a login and i get this status page back.

ok i realized it was dropping the &trigger. i added it back and it worked - with auth. without it, it gives a blank page. with auth i first have to login
