Looking for config instructions for Events, IVS for T5442TM-AS

I'm new to this and just installed two T5442TM-AS turret cameras. I'm not investing in a NVR yet and will just manage the cameras directly for now.

I've been staring at the settings for Events, Motion Detection, IVS, etc. for a day or two now and I don't know where to start.

I've got the cameras mounted and aligned where I want them, I'm able to log in and view the video streams on my LAN, and I'm able to manipulate the settings. Also, I have IR on Auto and it seems to work really well for my coverage area.

Here's what I'd like to do...
1. Configure alerts (events?) when cars or people come up the driveway (both cameras are pointing at opposite ends of my circular driveway).
2. Start a recording for some amount of time when an alert happens (recording saved locally; each camera has a 256GB sdcard).
3. Notify me (email, sms?) when an alert happens.

The settings as I read them now don't make much sense to me. Is there a guide anywhere?

A first step is to make sure Smart Plan is on, and Smart Codec is off. You should then be able to set up IVS events.
