So this is my first ever install and Im trying to get the IPC-HFW5231E-Z12E to pick up plates from the street. I want to install it on the soffit but because of the angle, the IR is kicking back into the lens and the image is being effected I believe. If I move it closer to the edge then I have to worry about rain and a dirty lens. Can I simply tone down the IR (the street has decent lighting)? Should I move it closer to the edge? Thoughts?

Yeah we get a lot more rain here than when we lived in Dallas.

I clean them every 3 or 4 months... maybe. Eight of the ones around my house are exposed. It rained here today, its raining now.

Your image/review sold me on those turrets from Andy. I'm just working on figuring out where to put them and figuring out how many more I need now.
