I know the angle isn't ideal but any suggestions on improving this image? Is my shutter speed too low? Far IR Is at 100. If I increase shutter speed what else should I try adjusting?

That may be the worst angle Ive seen.

That said, you could experiment. Distance?
Id bump Gain up for starters

Yes, very readable during day.

The problem you have, and will continue to get worse as more states change the way plates are made, is that the infrared isn't bouncing back to the source and is instead reflecting off.

It is making it even more critical to get straight on shots, or even better add white light to get it in color.

Looks like the only other car that went by last night which was at 2:45am had readable plate it just wasn't found by codeproject.ai , Another camera angle shows it was local police making rounds. So I'm close to what I can get with my limitations.
