If this incident wasn’t caught on video it would probably be ruled as arson / insurance fraud.

I honestly can’t believe the dumb luck this dog was able to cause this fire. All caught on a perfectly focused camera in that exact spot???

As an aside, I / we never leave anything on the stove top no matter if it’s a pot after meal prep.

My internal systems monitor all the areas, zones, floors for water, electrical, and heat / fire.

Can’t imagine waking up to blaring sirens, strobes, lights, and notifiers due to a fire!

Looks like they had a paper bag on the top of an electric stove. The dog's paw held down the knob long enough for the electric element to set fire to the bag.

Absolutely highlights the need to have smoke / CO detectors in place. Along with monthly testing and changing out the batteries on an annual basis.

All smoke / CO should be replaced every ten years per manufacturer’s recommendation and local codes.

Can’t imagine those who are heavy sleepers!

It seems the dog is hungry.
