Monoprice Hikvision rebadge?

This Monoprice camera looks an awful lot like the Hikvision DS-2CD2T55FWD-I5/I8. Any idea if it's the same, and how well it performs? Also is it possible to get OEM firmware installed on rebadged hardware, or does Hikvision keep firmware downloads restricted somehow?

Yes it is a rebranded Hikvision. Unless there's something important missing or something that really annoys you I'd suggest you leave it alone.

I'm a huge fan of Monoprice. That said, their pricing on rebadged Hikvision gear is not close to being competitive.

Not with a ten foot pole.

I failed at checking the dimensions though, it's freaking HUGE. I'm probably going to return it. Instead I have a few of the Swann-branded Hikvision turrets on their way to me, their dimensions are a lot lower profile.
