Getting the hang of it

Hey everybody! I’m using zones with my motion detection in BI. I’ve got the pixel counter off and reset screen at 67% turned off. I have contrast set at 12 and size down to 120. My make time is set at .1 seconds. Here’s a picture of zones A and B. My problem is that I’m missing motion alerts with vehicles passing in front of the camera going from A to B or B to A. Anyone have any ideas?

Zoomed in too tight.

You could lower the FPS so that there is more of a motion difference from frame to frame. I noticed that with a tightly zoomed in field of view and vehicles. At 30FPS it was missing many vehicles. At 8FPS it catches them all.

What camera is it - would it be better to use the camera AI?

It’s a Z12E from Andy. I believe it’s set at 15 fps. I have it zoomed in to see tags. It seems like I caught everything without zones using motion. I’ll zoom out and lower the FPS. Thank you as always Wittaj!

So is this camera and that field of view for reading plates or are you re-purposing this? If you still want to read plates, you don't want to zoom out too much. I would go with lower FPS first.

I zoomed out just a smidge. It can be an awkward angle to see the numbers at times but, I don’t think I’ll have an issue no more than I’ve come out. I dropped the FPS to 10. I wonder how low is too low? I’ll roll with what I got and see how well it does.

The absolute max speed should be 20mph. I checked the IVS (turned off in BI) and it’s picked up everything. I believe if I used just motion in zone A, BI would capture everything and then some. I’m using zones to point a PTZ in a preset depending on direction of travel through the zones. It works perfectly when triggered.
