I’m using a Hikvision IPC-B140H camera, and I’ve noticed an issue with the motion detection feature. It works perfectly at night in night vision mode, detecting even small movements like a cat passing by. However, during the day, motion detection does not work at all—even if a person walks through the detection area.
Here’s what I’ve tried so far:
Despite these efforts, the camera still fails to detect any motion during the day. Has anyone experienced a similar issue or have suggestions on how to resolve this? Could it be a hardware limitation or a setting I’ve missed?

- Verified that the firmware is up to date.
- Confirmed that Smart Event settings are not available for this camera model.
