I picked up 4 2032F-W for a family member who doesn't have the budget for an NVR nor I want to introduce BI to.

The goal is to have remote view of the property, send text/email alerts with snapshots and record to SD.

Can I set the camera to do motion record direct SD or is it Jpg snapshots?

planning on using 32gb card and if I did continuous recording, I can only get 1 day out of it @ 15fps

Yes that's what I did. Motion only, + send snap shot to email for line detection on 32gb micro sd via wifi

The cheapest 4 channel NVR with poe is 110$ usd 80$ if no poe. They couldn't afford that? how are you planning to power the cameras? DC12V ?

I was looking at HIK's own POE NVR $300 plu HDD $80

Going to be powering them with a POE switch $50 but now that I'm adding things up, 64GB micro sd is about $80 plus the $50 switch. $130-150

or I can do with a $50 ish switch, $100 NVR, and $80 HDD only $100 more is probably do able.

The 7100 NVR series are about 110 with 4 port poe. Records up to 1080p (2mp) per camera
