As most folks realize now the MacOS is not so security camera friendly. I have come up with a simple 3rd party setup for one of my iMacs Computers that lets me config & browse cameras. Thought I would share in case anyone is looking at the same. First I use an offloaded NVR to record all the cameras in hardware. The data is stored on that and not the iMac. Secondly I install the MacOS version of the Dahua ConfigTool. Third, I installed an old version of IP Cam Viewer Ver 2. This allows me to see all cameras as a security camera console would. It also allows alarms and such, and you can even record to the iMac if you like. Lastly I use an old version of Chrome and NACL Web Plugin to pickup the slack of the issues with safari and plugins. So far I am please with the setup and pray for no issues in Apple changing the MacOS so these tools won't work. I have tried iSpy in the past and it seemed clumsy and expensive. Just a FYI, thought I would share.
