Hi,

About 2 yrs ago I bought a 30X zoom ipcamera from Security Camera King and was never really satisfied with it.
Zoomed out all the way, it was never really dependably sharp. I want to replace it with a a really good Dahua friendly PTZ with excellent optics and resolution. Also built in IR. Also where to buy at a good price.

Thanks,
Tubac

Ask Andy @EMPIRETECANDY to price out a Dahua SD6CE245U-HNI 45x Starlight PTZ which is an outstanding camera IMO. thumbsup.gif

I checked the review of this and it seems like it has problems focusing in low light zoomed out. The same thing my current camera has. Is there a laser version? I use my cams for wildlife photography.

Thanks,
Tubac

Gotta love the DORI distances on that 12248V-LR8-N :)

Detect 2731m(8960ft)
Observe 1092m(3583ft)
Recognize 546m(1791ft)
Identify 273m(896ft)

Wow,

I have a nvr from security camera king. It is from their Elite series. It is a Dahua clone I think.
Will the 12248V-LR8-N be compatible or will I have to go to ONVIF?

Outta my league, no idea. Best check with Andy on a small Dahua NVR thats compatible...or call Security Camera King and ask them.

But you HAVE to post videos of it once you get setup!

Did you price out the 12248V-LR8-N ?? Crazy price on those positioning cams...
The SD6AE240V-HNI has one of the best image lenses on the dahua cams at 2mp. The SD8A840VI-HNI is the 4k starlight king that should have a great picture as well.
I can tell you the
SD10A248V-HNI has a great picture but it is hard to reach out far at night and keep the image crisp without a lot of adjusting.
Whatever cam you are using in the vid above looks real good, and the depth of field looks great.

I didn't have much luck mixing anything with dahua cams/nvr's except dahua. They would work but acted buggy all the time.

Hi,

I did price it out-3,700 US.
I will check out those other cams you listed.
It’s not so much the acuity of the lens at a normal distance but zoomed all the way out in ir mode, and, its ability to focus quickly and accurately.

SD6CE230U-HNI is the new model, not too big compare to the 4K model and the SD10 one.

Do the laser focus Dahua cams do a better job of focusing a long distances in it mode Andy?
Yes, Laser can do better work, but those price much higher than this. If for home only, this model is good enough, No need cost extra money.

I think Andy probably prefers to provide such quotes via private message @EMPIRETECANDY thumbsup.gif
