I have Dahua NVR and 9 cameras from Andy. I need a new doorbell, my Google Hello Doorbell not working anymore. I do not have POE at doorbell location only 12 Volts.

I would like a doorbell that I can store video to my NVR wirelessly if possible. No way to get POE at doorbell location.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If the NVR is ONVIF-compliant, then consider the Reolink Wi-Fi doorbell. However, you'd need the voltage to be 12-24VAC or 24VDC, not 12VDC. If that can be done, then just use the furnished plug-in chime.

You would also log into the doorbell's webGUI, assign it a unique static IP in same subnet as the NVR's LAN but outside of your router's DHCP pool.

In that same webGUI you'd also enable ONVF and RTSP, connect to the same switch as the NVR's LAN and add to the NVR.

Amcrest 2k and the Lorex 2k doorbell will work with your Dahua NVR seeing they are a Dahua OEM product.. Also Dahua sales one also that would work again with Dahua NVR and can be powered by 12vdc.. Keep in mind that if you were to buy and setup you would need to make sure not to use the Doorbell feature in the app setup. What I mean is normally the doorbell is setup to run 16v to a doorbell chime in the house. You can power the doorbell camera in a stand alone mode so in the app leave that feature setting up to a Doorbell Chime alone.. I have both Amcrest and Lorex running on 12v and have since they were released. With no issue. Press button calls the app and all things just no indoor chime..

If you are using a Dahua Ai based NVR and want the Human Detection to work with your NVR then stay with the Dahua based systems like Lorex, Dahua and Amcrest.. Setting up and enabling Human detection translates into my Amcrest AI NVR as a AI camera with human detection.. Any onvif based doorbell like my LTS and a few others that are ONVIF will work but would be motion only events and where I have my cameras mounted means I would get so many false alarms on my NVR that I would turn off motion and what good is that lol.. Human works great and get a notice in app and events in my AI recorder as human..

Yoo hoo, Revo2Maxx......

Sorry didn't get an update to the feed here.. So Stand alone would be just that Alone no doorbell chime. Now there are some wireless chimes that can be found Amcrest don't seem to have them anymore.. But in that case it would be stand alone with wireless chime.. Here is the issue.. Camera if connected and lets say you connect with Chime Kit that it comes with and setup to a chime With out having a chime connected it will kill the camera.. That is why in 12, 24v DC or 24vac you would want to use only in stand alone mode.. If you want a chime you can setup normal 2 wire 1 to chime one to 16vac transformer with a chime kit connected between them 2 terminals on the indoor chime/bell.. You know like normal doorbell there is 2 wires coming to switch. one to transformer and one to indoor chime/bell.. When button is pushed it makes a OPEN (Switch) a close switch to finish the circuit to power the indoor chime/bell.. That is the normal function. Then if you were to connect normally then you would use the added Chime Kit and setup in the software the type of indoor chime/bell you are using Mech or Digital..

Yet if you were to use in stand alone. Then connect 2 wires from 12v or 24v power supply directly to the camera and that is it. Setup and where it ask to pick the chime ignore that.. SKIP and or don't add it depending on the software it is installed with. Newest version of Amcrest Smart Home app after setup if you had a doorbell/chime then you would click that option to setup.. But not in stand alone mode.. You can also power the doorbell cameras I mentioned with USB 5v 2amps if you had the camera under a porch and wouldn't get hit by any water.. So there are options to power it.. If the doorbell is damaged like you buy used connect to the 2 pins on the back to 12 or 24v and it don't power up using USB it will power because the camera has 2 power input that are not connected to the main aka normal 2 pin.. In other words USB and the 2 pins are protected by 2 different internal fuses..

So it is kind of hard to notice. But looking at the picture of my Lorex doorbell camera you can see the USB slot right next to it is a very small SMD fuse.. Then on another board you can see just above U1 there are 2 pins that are marked TP1 and TP2 they are really not test points lol. They are push pens that connect to the 2 screws on the back plate that have flat copper or brass screw holders. Under that PCB is where the second 3amp fuse for the normal 2 wire setup.. It is hard to tell but the 2 boards are there and if you look at the picture next to the Micro SD card slot is a shadow where the USB board is placed over the top of the bottom board that the little mini battery is taped down too.. When using the camera with normal doorbell setup aka using an indoor chime that battery is what keeps the camera working when the cameras little Micro relay closes that switch you know to make the doorbell/chime/bell inside sound. Without the battery the camera would just go offline and start a reboot process.. So in normal use mode and if used in a hot area that battery dies from being over charged or over heated or I don't know why but there have been a few on Amcrest Forum that have had to replace that battery after a few years use with camera in direct sunlight areas or in AZ heat.. Just saying.. Have to source the battery and remove that little sensor in orange to the new battery as I don't know of any that offer that as an option of the small replacement battery.. I have had the joy of repairing 23 of these cameras now. Taking it apart for the first time is a pain to get to the 3amp fuse. Have to take out every board to gain access to that SMD fuse..

I've got the Reolink POE Doorbell and can't get the DMSS App nor the SmartPSS Windows app to connect to the doorbell, even though the IP Address is correct. I've tried all the ports, still not working. I can get to the web browser version just fine. My phone is on the same VLAN as the doorbell, and my PC can cross VLANs and see the web version of the camera on the IoT network just fine

Has anyone ran into this before and able to help?
