Hi Guys,

Someone drove into my car, and I'm pretty sure it was one of my neighbors. I'm not sure exactly when it happened, but it was probably within the last week.

I have three weeks of footage on my Dahua system, but there aren't any AI features currently enabled on the camera. Is there a smart way to analyze the video? For example, using AI to detect if a car came close enough to my car?

Thanks!

Not that I can think of.

1- stop and enable IVS on your cameras

2- in cases like that I just spot check. Let’s say you have a week’s window.
Start by spot checking a likely time on each day going backwards. 1 or 2 15 second checks will quickly get you to a narrowed down window of a certain day the damage was NOT there.
Now that you have a day isolated, do the same thing by hour. Let’s say your car sits there every day from 8pm to 6am. Spot check 9pm and 6am and keep narrowing the hour.

Honestly it seems like a bunch of work, but given an incident like that and a known week, I could easily find it in say 15 minutes

Are you able to export the video into mp4, avi, or mkv, etc. file? If so, look into PySceneDetect, it may be able to narrow it down by listing times of when there is a change in the scene.... I've read about it, but never used it.

Here is an example:
There is a Windows version:
