I have an exterior location. Only have power in 1 corner building and the farthest location of camera will reach 150ft or so. What would be the best option and there is no Wifi signal at this location yet. I feel like I can only do a wired system becuase of lack of power sources and no wifi.
There ya go's. Hire local contractor / low voltage company to hard wire the camera for you. If you choose to go this route, consider adding cables at various places instead of just 1 place.
Wired is the way to go, wifi is not good enough to support security cameras well.
You can use POE power to send the power down the same wire the data comes back.
If you have power at the remote end consider using a dedicated encrypted RF link like these. I'm using a Loco Nano M5 to link four cameras from a storage shed back to the house. No dropouts, no wire, totally electrically isolated so surges and ground potential differences are not a problem at all. They will go out to a few kilometers so distance isn't an issue. In terms of bandwidth you can probably support 8 or 10 cameras with one set of links, one at the house end, one at the remote end, No trenching, conduit or cable is needed this way either,
