Getting the hang of it

I've got a church i help out and axis companion is getting ready be decommissioned unless you purchase their nvr's which will get quite costly. Im not sure the unifi protect is up to snuff yet on onvif (even though the interface is probably better fit for the end users im going to assume).

I need to get something that is somewhat user friendly for a front end for the users. Im used to backend being a nightmare (not that i want it to be) so that part is not an issue. I've used synology SS and i would be able to make that work if needed but costs are going to add up here for licenses (again....its a church...).

I currently have a couple workstations thru out the buildings that constantly view multi-cam view streams to monitor their areas (ie... preschool area viewing their respective cams, main entrance viewing their respective cams, etc....). Im fine with creating a "view" for the preschool for example and a different "view" for others etc.... I also have an admin that likes to "check up" :) on people while they are outside the building on phone.

Have roughly 25 - 30 cams currently i believe (1080p max). Would like the ability to add non-axis cams which BI will do i know. Planning on having a central workstation to dump the footage to which will run BI in the closet (currently dump axis companion footage to shared drives using SMB). Currently there is no motion/alerting/rules/etc setup. Its just dumping all footage down to the smb drives and people scroll thru if needed for retrieval. Long term i would like to adjust this once using better software and cams with built in detection capabilities such as andy's/dahua's.

Will BI handle these "viewing stations" properly and be stable and allow me to create some views to delegate to my monitoring people? I havent really tinkered with the app in a loooooong looooong time.

Any suggestions on how to handle this? Yeah / No for BI? Experiences?

If you set up the viewing stations using the UI3 web client and configure the areas to be monitored with camera groups, I am sure that you can get what you want, you will likely need a reasonable good PC for the main BI software, the other PC's don't need much as they are just viewing the UI3 web page.

Can the same camera be added to multiple camera groups? Axis wont allow me this currently so i have to get creative.

Ie preschool door likes to be monitored by preschool group and also the main entrance group.
