So I got a delivery from DHL Thursday and received my new 2MP CVI Starlight cameras along with a new Tribrid S3 version DVR (model HCVR72A16A-S3 ) that will allow me to run a mix of IP cams and CVI. As I already had 8 CVI cams installed that I'm pretty happy with, this 8 channel recorder will allow me to run those + and additional 4 IP cams up to 5MP.
Purchased from cctv-mall, used Visa card via Paypal so no problem with payment or Auth, and can't complain as equipment was delivered to my door as promised in 14 days from order. DHL actually handled their part in just 48 hours. cctv-mall upgraded 2 cams I bought for my Mom's place which I intend to install in the coming weeks, the models I ordered were not available from Dahua they advised and anticipated a long wait, so they offered to send at same cost two upgraded models which I thought was cool of them.
The new Tribrid is nice, love being able to run IP cams, (yes I'm shopping ) and also being able to run full 30FPS on all cams as I was limited to 15FPS on my other DVR. While I know 15FPS is a standard, and it may make little difference during the daytime, at night, at least with CVI cams, it DOES make an obvious difference in motion blur on people.
The new Intelligence features are there, Tripwire, Intrusion, Missing/Abandoned, and Face Detect. So far I've successfully setup Tripwire and Intrusion, which are GREAT replacements for MD in cerrtain spots. One BIG problem I'm having however is so far I'm not able to setup Intelligence sensing on more than one channel at a time - WTF? :mad-new: I may be missing something, or it could be a limitation of CVI. I know the IP cameras with IVS allow you to set the functions at the camera itself where CVI is relying on the DVR for this.
The Starlights are replacing the older HAC HFW2220RN Z models which are great, and they found a new home on the pool deck and backyard where the WDR comes in handy.
Still a lot to do but I did play with the Starlight bullets a bit today (model HAC-HFW32A1EN-Z ) Here's some snapshots in various light conditions, a lot of settings to play with to get the most of these, but very encouraged so far....
For reference here's a snap of the older 2220RN-Z camera - Color mode wth WDR on -
I had to leave WDR on even in color at night because I need it in daytime and the WDR setting was fixed when ON regardless of the camera being in color or auto/black and white at night.. A feature I like on the new 32A1EN-Z is that you can set WDR on during the day and, in Auto mode, when the camera switches to black and white it turns WDR off and turns it back on to your daytime setting when it switches back to color, as you would think it should!
Here are snaps of the new HFW32A1EN-Z
color- WDR OFF - coach lights on
color- WDR ON - coach lights on
Color mode No coach lights - obviously if the vehicles weren't in the way in shadow, you can see how powerful the Starlights pick up light
Auto mode letting it go to B&W with coach lights and IR ON
Auto mode, coach lights off, IR only
The twin opposing camera in full Auto mode with coach lights on *** Just noticed the bad timestamp. duh This was snapped before I had set time etc on the DVR
I'll try to get some better snapshots once I play with settings and upload a few clips.
