Hi Everyone,

2 of my Dahua eyeball cameras decided to stop working. After some investigating I realised the 2 cameras needed replacing.
Unfortunately Dahua stopped making the original eyeball cameras so I purchased 2 Dahua 6mp DH-IPC-HDW3641TMP-AS-0280B.

After connecting the new cameras, my NVR was giving me conf.loginerror20-20 error message . When i logged into my NVR via internet explorer it was telling me the new cameras are offline.

My NVR is a VIP VIsion NVR8ENT

I've tried the following options:
  • Updated the NVR firmware
  • Changed the manufacturer of the cameras to Onvif
  • changed the password of the cameras

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

What is make/model of the NVR?

Do the cameras connect to back of NVR or are they on a POE somewhere else on your network?

If it is old enough it might not be able to accept a 6MP camera.

Are you sure it was the old cameras that stopped working and not the POE ports?

According to the specs, it cannot accept over 5MP:

Resolution 5MP(2560×1920) / 3MP(2048×1536) / 1080P(1920×1080) / 720P(1280×720) / D1 (704×576/704×480)

Log into the camera settings. As previisly mentioned, try adjusting the camera to a lower resolution (1080p). Also, check if the video codec format is set to H.264 (most old NVR only format). Sometimes the camera default are set at H.265
