New Dahua install, help setting up AI features, alerts, etc

Hi All,

I have just setup 8 x 5442 cameras with Dahua NVR DHI-NVR5216-8P-EI - which appears to have a load of smart AI features.

Attached is a preview of all the options and from what i've read - one feature selection disables another.

Which is the best feature to capture people faces as they enter a drawn area and would it be possible to have an image sent to the app or via email of the 'intruder'?

I have read the DahuaWiki but still not certain what the best choice would be.

It’s complicated and can be done multiple ways.

Turn off Acupick

in theory you should make your settings on the cameras themselves, not the NVR

Each camera has similar Smart Plan choices. Face detection can be used but it’s really only effective within about 12-15 ft and with good light. You will need to adjust each camera to the scene.

If you want, you could also run Video Metadata on the NVR in addition to Face Detection on the cameras. Both can send you a snapshot via email and a push notification by smartphone.

Each camera/scene will be different and require testing and dialing in.
