8K = 32mp. Cameras that large are not going to happen very soon I would predict and most probably not at consumer prices.

I'd wait and see the sensor size and pricing. These could be $4K cameras or could be 8K resolution on a 1/1.8" sensor for example and thus poor at night. I'd have thought you'd be looking at least at a 35mm sensor to get good night vision on a sensor with that many pixels. Or put it this way, given 4k is decent on a 1/1.2" Sensor you're potentially looking at something 8 x the size to maintain the same pixel size ratio.

Avigilon has had a 61MP camera out for a few years now.
I do not know of a single sensor camera with higher than 12MP resolution from Dahua.
So my assumption is 32MP NVR decoding is for future proofing and multisensor cameras.

Cameras like the Hubble which is combined 32MP+8MP in one unit...
The panoramic output from 8 * 4MP 1/1.8" and a 8MP 1/1.8" PTZ.

Here's a 16MP camera....
A traffic camera and a 180 panoramic:
Like the DH-IPCMFW7442K1 and a DH-IPC-PFW5849-A180 in one unit.
