I joined up and mostly lurked for a while. I'm still trying to make some determinations. I'm going to be setting up a few cameras around the property. Probably a few bullets and an eyeball or dome right above the front door on the porch. feeding into blueiris (or similar). likely looking to tie it all into an openhab zwave setup.
Do the software features of the camera really matter if you plan to use a target dvr? other than wdr/codec, things like motion detection or alarms, etc.?
I'm still trying to figure out if it's still a good workaround to buy cheap chinese market cams and firmware hack them or if that boat sailed recently. Either way it looks like this is where the answers are.
