I'm a hopeful DIY'er - like to try my hand at all sorts of stuff, build things, fix things - and hate to pay someone to do what I could do myself.
Anyway I joined ipcamtalk to learn more about video surveillance and home security.
I'm scheming to build my own full house system - but want to ease into the water and first build a minimum viable video system to monitor an outbuilding on my property.
The objective is to evaluate hardware and software for a future bigger project, while I learn myself up on the fundamentals and practical realities of home security, and video surveillance in particular.
I'll make a separate post with a description of the project.
For now, thanks in advance, I'm sure I will learn a lot here!
