New Self Install Camera Setup - Software Assitance

Hi guys, I've been browsing the forums, and have already noted a few things to chage with my setup in regardsto camera's witha decent focal length.

The part I'm having the most trouble with isthe Monitoring software side of thinds. My current setup consists of:

1 x NVR - DHI-NVR4108HS-8P-AI/ANZ
8 x DH-IPC-HDW3849H-AS-PV-ANZ

I have DMSS setup on my phone and the notiufications come through from my trip wires and intrusions prettyconsistently. However I am unsure if the WebUI is thebest option or SmartPSS. I can't seem to get playback to work properly on either smart PSS or the WebUI.

Wondering if there's any guidance on how to set these things up a little better, would happily transfer to a better software if thats the recomendation, would even be keen to have someone walk me through some setup if possible. Thanks. matt.

SmartPSS is better than the NVR Web UI for LIve Monitoring/Playback/Downloading clips ... nothing else though
Use the NVR Web UI for managing the higher level system functions (networking, recording) and use the individual Camera Web UI for all settings that are available on it

There are lots of videos and instructions online, Google is your friend.

What are you having trouble with specifically with SmartPSS?

Hi bigredfish, thanks for your reply!!

The smartwall feature had me stumped to begin with, buit realised that's because I didn't have a wall of monitors!! Context is everything and I did find some video's last night that Andy had posted so they came in very helpful. It's not just playing with the Tripwire and Intrusion parameters in IVS to create something that will catch people around the house. All this is being done off the Camera AI with the NVR doing nothing except a box to record to. Seems facial recognition and IVS can't be enabled at the same time, and maybe my NVR/Camera's can't do it anyway,

As far as the bitrate and quality is concerned, that's a whole bunch of different questions. I did read somewhere about general recording being set at a lower bit rate/quality and only increasing in quality as IVS kicks in to record.

will keep googling.
