New to LPR - Is Dahua the way to go even with a LTS NVR?

Hello,

I have been reading the threads on here and it seems like Dahua cameras are the way to go for LPR.

To my understanding, the two popular Dahua models seem to be:

1) IPC-HFW5231E-Z12

2) IPC-HFW5431E-Z5

I live in a slightly rural area, and on a large property. I have a long driveway and have installed a light pole about 12 ft high near the gate with a bright light bulb which turns on at night.

Are these models still the current gold standard (for home use, for a couple of hundred USD) or are there newer models?

Now, my main question is....are there any LTS/Hikvision alternatives to these? Or should I go with the Dahua even if I lose some functionality with Onvif

To add...once I install one of these cameras on the pole, I presume there is no PTZ type functionality, i.e. if I installed it too high or too low on the pole then I need to remount the camera?
