Hello all.

I've been using a dahua 4 port Poe recorder (DHI--NVR 4104 HS-P-4KS2/L )so far with 4x Dahua IP camera's
type SD22404T-GN-S2 (PTZ) and fixed cam type HDBW2431E-S-S2

I want to try Blue Iris. I have a Ubiquiti Edge switch 16 ES-150W-Poe

Do I have to reset all cam's ? Since it has a username and password connected to the dahua NVR

No you do not need to reset the cameras.

You can use your NVR and feed the cameras from the NVR straight into BI.

In BI, you select add camera and put the IP address of the NVR into the IP address location. Put in username and password and hit find/inspect and let BI do its thing.

Then about halfway down is a pull down for Camera number and pick camera 1 and then hit ok. The camera should show up. Then add camera and the select copy and copy this camera and then change the number 1 to a 2 and repeat for your cameras. OR depending on your NVR, it may populate all the cameras in the main and substream pulldown boxes and you just select a camera number and then add another camera and select the next pulldown.

That way you can use your NVR as the POE switch and also have a redundant recording.

If you want to take the NVR out of the equation, then you will need to change IP address of the cameras to match the IP subnet that you run for the BI computer.

Ahh I didn't know I could use the NVR attached to BI. So if i understand it correctly: I will have to give my ip cam's (which now have ip address 10.1.1.65 (and the others have 67-68-69) Something like 192.168.2.x (my subnet is 192.168.2.x). So disconnect one cam from the NVR. I give my laptop ip 10.1.1.1. Connect the cam directly to the laptop. Login to the cam-change ip address.
Once all4 cam's have a 192.168.2.x ip address, I can hook them to the PoE switch where my PC with BI is attached to ?

That is correct if you plan to take the NVR out of the equation.

If you plan to leave the NVR for basic recording, or even just pass thru, then you simply use the IP address of the NVR for BI and then do the pulldown for each camera.

Ok I've put my NVR ip-address in BI Blue_Iris_cam2 2023-08-31 151529.jpg

But I see only 1 camera. If I'm trying to add a second one, it just shows the image of the first one.
Changing cam# doesn't do anything

The dahua NVR is still in use, but i can't change the ip address of the cam's (they all have been assigned 10.1.1.x by Dahua)

What am i doing wrong, any idea ???

You cut off the rest of that screenshot, but try where it says main and sub - use that pull down box and there are probably the other cams there. Then select the same camera for main and sub.

try changing the camera channel number in the script from 1 to 2 to 3 etc....Like this, my NVR didn't seem to react well to just a camera number change, I had to change it in the script..

you can see the box is populated with menu choice 1, but the script is on chan 3...that is how I have my Amcrest(dahua OEM) 4108 NVR working.
But as i recall, it may have previously changed with the cam# option box...in a much earlier version of BI....
