Newbie Trialling Blue Iris - Couple of questions

I ve just downloaded Blue Iris and have a couple of questions:

1. I can get keyboard shortcuts to work - when I try to set up shortcuts, the space for keying in wont let me type anything. Am I doing something wrong or is there a problem with the software.
2. Does this software work with most Dahua IP cameras and will I be able to use it for PTZ control?

1) You have to click the "Set to next command typed" button, then create the shortcut by pushing the keys on the keyboard.
