Hi Guys,
I think this is my first post. Didnt even realize I had an account until I tried to register and it said email already exists. Anyhow, had couple of noob questions for you guys that hopefully someone can answer. A few months back, I bought the Lorex Costco deal (and still havent installed it) and it came with:
six 4K cameras
( https://www.lorextechnology.com/downloads/ip-cameras/LNB8005/LNB8005_Series_Specs_R1.pdf?irgwc=1&utm_medium=CPA&utm_campaign=impactradius&utm_source=affiliate )
and a NVR
(https://www.lorextechnology.com/dow...tm_campaign=impactradius&utm_source=affiliate)
1) So NVRs that have ports for each camera. Is a direct connection needed in order for the NVR to record? I have the Netgear Orbi mesh network at my house. I was wondering if, rather than trying to wire all the cameras to the NVR, can I wire different cameras to either a mesh network node/hub (along with a PoE switch) or the NVR itself and everything would work since its all on the same network?
2) As an alternative to the NVR, has anyone used a QNAP NAS to record to? If so, what program did you use? I know QNAP has a Surviellance Station app but it charges you for each camera. Trying to find more good but cost effective alternatives. Another question related to this is can you record to both NAS and NVR at the same time and if so, does it chew up network bandwidth?
3) Is there a way to have multiple monitors around the house that can view the live cameras feeds?
Thanks,
John
