Not this sh!t again...

Whatever it is, after Jan. 20th I hope it'll be called "ChinaVirus3" or 17 or 98 or whatever, not some supid ass code name because it's not supposedly P.C. to denote the virus' origin.

I can still see and hear Trump in 2020 saying "...because it's from CHY-NA!" :headbang::winktongue:

I have not been sick in over 2 years (probably longer, not for sure). Went to a New Years Eve party (Filippina clan) and some SOB gave me something. This is some powerful magic shit here. I don't know if is is Bronchitis, RSV, or the Flu, but its bad. If I could have gotten out of bed at 0130 this morning, I would have gotten my wife to take me to the ER. I could barely breath, much less move. Cold, shaking (two blankets on) just good old fashion misery training I suppose.

Be safe out there...and though I know ALL OF YOU already know this, if you are sick STAY HOME AND STAY AWAY FROM OTHERS, FFS!

I had my first bout with Covid over the holidays. The wife got it first and then me. We both had all the classic symptoms of Covid and we tested every other day since we had a stock pile of them. Anyway that was Dec.20 and we both test negative now and both getting back to normal, but the stamina isn't back yet. I feel good and start to do something and soon I am very weak again. Neither of us got the vacs, we both had flu shots. Apparently, it is running rampant here in the Midwest and some new variant XEC. I think the last time I felt like shit like this was 18 yrs ago when I got a bad flu virus, thus why to this day I get the flu shots every year. Happy new year all and a healthy one at that!

Glad you're feeling better and am surprised you were able to stave off COVID this long. Anyway, I was vaxxed by the VA in '21 twice and have had it 3 times now in 3 years. Never boosted and won't ever trust any of 'em from now on. However, I've almots almost always had a flu vax annually for probably the last 20 years or longer, can't recall.

My wife nor I have had covid....yet. Everyone else in our family has had it more than once.
My wife and I broke our habit of licking doorknobs long ago, must be why we have lucked out so far.

Had Covid 2x. 2nd time had lingering minor symptoms of Chronic Fatigue like stuff, for about 90 days, and some smell issues on and off, ( i should stink but i don't,,,,Better put on new clothes and shower anyway.) and was taking large supplements of Vitamin C, so I could get my ass to work.
Can definitely tell now when I'm funkified,,,,but the motivation to do something about it. sure isnt the same.
one night I thought who the fuck needs a shower in this bus...?
Twas I............:)

I never had COVID. My youngest daughter caught it...she was 8. Was just like a really weird sore throat for her, but isolationism for 8 days is what got to her. But she was a trooper. My other daughter, she was 12 at the time and never caught it. When she turned 13 we got her the first vaccination. The same for me and my wife. My wife ended up catching it, again, just a bad cold. I never did. My youngest daughter never got the vaccine.

Never got the covid vax and never will. I don't even trust the flu vax anymore. Last one I got was pre-covid.

Last spring I came down with something that might have been covid, but never lost my taste/smell. Didn't go to the Dr, just stuck it out at home, sick as a dog. Took ivermectin, vitamins and some OTC stuff to treat the symptoms. Lasted about 2 months total. Bad enough I was house bound just as the weather changed from winter to spring. But I had just got another GSD pup. So now I had 2 GSD's to take care of, on top of being sick. But the responsibility and the care they required, pushed me to keep going and not lay around feeling 'woe is me'.

But I had just got another GSD pup.
Heck, that alone can be a handful...been there, got the tee shirt...like about 8 times in my life!
But it's all good, dogs can add so much more to our lives than they demand. :)

That pup was #5 and doubt he'll be my last. I had wanted to raise 2 together for the last decade or so. But working kept me from getting the 2nd. Now that I'm retired, I can spend 24/7 with them. Words can't describe how I feel raising 2 together. Life is good! I'm sure you know what I mean.

Learned something new today and had to look it up. GSD....didn't' know. My dog is part Shepard, and other then the MASSIVE SHIT TON OF SHEDDING, it is no doubt, the best part of her. She is such a caring, nurturing and loving dog. Super smart. Best dog I have ever had, no doubt.

LOL don't even talk about shedding. I have to vacuum daily. But both are restricted to just down stairs which is just hardwood and tile floors. I'd be rich if there was a market for dog hair.

I have a fire team of roomba's that run every day, 3 cordless, hand held vac's, you name it. Its insane how much she sheds. And there is nothing wrong with her at all. It is what it is., and she is wonderful. Actually, she's the best human being in this household! :)

Just check my shot record. I had 3 inoculations in 2021 march april and November.
havent had a covid shot since,
Last fall 2023 i relented and got the flu shot and of course like I've been telling everyone forever. when i get the Flu shot I always get the Flu.
Everytime I don't get the Flu shot I don't get the Flu. coincidence?
