Definitely notice the lack of Amazon trucks on the roads.
No Amazon trucks parking the wrong way, 8 feet from the curb, on a busy road.
I do not miss them, although convenient, would not mind Amazon disappearing.

No change here in Houston.

I have come across too many comments on YouTube and Reddit with the following, "Who cares, I just want my package..."
Though I find this appalling, people should know these types of jobs are typically temporary and workers are working on behalf of third-party contractors, and not Amazon directly

After retiring from that industry (Yellow "Fright"), it is a wonder some
of these companies are still in biz! They will work you like a dog, call you names,
kick you to the curb because your production down, then threaten to fire you!

Amazon has helped KILL YOUR LOCAL BUSINESSES, as mom and pop can't sell shit that
cheap and substandard! (and we bitch about the things we buy as Chinese garbage where
years before it was Japanese products)

We have been DRONED into thinking it was wages that caused all of the problems of
a business. If in fact that was the truth, why would we not be able to build the Interstate
Highway System again? Where are the flocks of jets we used to have? Can't trade in your
car every 3 years?

Compare NASA, SpaceX, Blue Origins and New Glenn. 3 of them SUCK off of us with mind-numbing
cost over-runs, sweet-heart deals with a healthy dose of larceny VS stupidity. The other, can catch
a rocket out of the sky!

It has even become apparent to some of the neigh-Sayers, that the media (in NY,NY) has no problem
telling the biggest whoppers continuously. Now most people have seen that the democrats have had
a war with the American People since the Whisky Rebellion of 1794! But, your history books have taught
you differently as they have with most wars, because they are made in New York New York!

Pay them as we work rain or shine even when the USPS doesn't deliver!

Go TEAMSTERS!

In addition to that, they spy and collect data on you. AWS is a HUGE part of the Internet and IMO could shut most of it down if they wanted to. The monster gets bigger, and we stand in line to feed it. Add to that we send gobs of money and most of our technology to China in order to get cheap stuff faster, then watch in shock as they get stronger and stronger.

My next-door neighbor is away so I have been picking up his mail and packages. He got one today in an Amazon box with an Amazon shipping address but was delivered by the USPS. So apparently the USPS is taking up some of the shipments from Amazon.

Yes on some small items they have arrived here as a USPS delivery. for the last few years anyway

Exactly.
The FTC should never have allowed AT&T to buy DirecTV years ago and should have been keeping an eye on Amazon and Google all these years and yet here we are.
IMO, the FTC is another 3 lettered gov't. agency that has functioned about as as well as a screendoor in a submarine and deserves either an overhaul or a complete disassembly after Jan. 20, 2025.

So I did see one Amazon delivery, all electric, van today while out and about.
Normally would have seen 20 of them.

I know my local UPS guys have been picking up the Amazon slack, driver and helper both hustling the other day.
I told them Merry Christmas and take a breath.

One another note, the last couple of days I’ve been told “merry Christmas” not happy holidays. I wonder if this is a trump thing and people are fed up with the woke bull.

Whatever the reason, It’s nice to hear.

Amazon has helped KILL YOUR LOCAL BUSINESSES

Honestly, no, it didn't. The local businesses killed the local business. Here in Houston there are plenty of small local businesses thriving, but the plenty of useless ones closed.

All too often mom and pop shop flat out refuse or argue returns. Amazon does not. When half the stuff you are selling is China junk, you're going to have to accept returns...

A small price increase I can deal with to get it locally, but its always something crazy like 2x the MSRP. Why exactly am I paying that much? I'm not a chump.

Small business online also killed themselves. If I order something on Monday, by Tuesday or Wednesday I hope to have it in the hands of UPS. But why am I waiting until Friday? No thanks. I'd rather order it from Amazon in that case.

Amazon would not exist, at least not as a major corporation, were it not for a big business-favoring corporate-welfare tax code (Federal) and short-sighted (some corrupt) State & City folks selling-out the future with long-term tax breaks for Amazon in return for vote-buying jobs. I can't find it ATM but there are studies of the expected tax payments of Amazon (without all the breaks, credit for returns, and special treatment) vs what they actually pay - it's not pretty. Guess who covers the missing portion of their tax payments (which would help to fund the upkeep of the roads that they use - heavily, and other costs of society)? The working people - while their CEO buys billion dollar yachts and mansions. (They could pay their fair share of taxes, and their CEO could still live fat.) America desperately needs major tax reform - flat/fair tax - no breaks, cuts, or other behavior-manipulating tax code for anyone for any reason. That's not an appropriate role of government.

What happened to Amazon local drivers, the ones that use their own vehicles, do ya'll see them anymore? Out here in the Sticks there are No Amazon vehicles, everything that comes to us from Amazon is sent through USPS or occasionally UPS.

That's right is was called Amazon Flex...

I just remember a time when our Doorbell CAM would catch many strangers running to our door from their unmarked vehicle, kinda gave us the Heebie-Jeebies, LOL

Yeah, I see them

Probably greater tax write-off opportunities with two than with one ... we need to fix the tax code mess.

One of the few social media venues not to censor people expressing doubts about the 2020 election was called Parler. Amazon Web Services silenced Parler by deplatforming it.

In addition to all the other good reasons for breaking Amazon into tiny, tiny pieces, that, on its own is a sufficient reason.
