Hi guys

i hope you can help. The kit I want is below.

NVR=DS-7604 and camera=DS-2CD2142FWD

i have attached a picture of the front of my house. I want to cover as much as I can or at least the front door and garage if someone walks up to it. Do I need a dome camera or is a turret better for this purpose?
Where do I mount it?
What mm lens do you recommend?
will I need two cameras or can I get away with one?

Secondly the NVR I have chosen is that up to the job? Don't need anything fancy and don't think I will ever need more then 4 cameras.

Thanks in advance for the help.

I was thinking on the left near the satellite dish with a 4mm lens. One just by the side of the front door. What lens size for this?

Just realised the bay window may come in the way if i mount it by the satellite dosh so I will need a mount to push it out a bit or shall I got for a bullet camera rather then a dome?

I'd put one on the left top of second floor above the sat. dish for overview.
One left of the entrance underneath the roof, and maybe one on the right in the opening towards the garage door on the ceiling so a bit hidden. Id use all 2.8 4mp

2.8mm next the the satellite dish is way too wide an angle. Unless you fancy filming half of next door and only 20% of your drive.

You can't put a camera there and cover your drive properly, so don't bother.
